I often see a piece of wood that would be fantastic if it were only a shade darker. I know for the most part when I add that urethane or lacquer there will be a slight shift, but i'm looking for the equivalent of a neutral density filter. Are there any stains or dyes out there that would accomplish this without affecting color?

Yeah, I know. I coulda used the term "finishes", but then it wouldn't be a finish, it would be a continuance of a build, or a new beginning.
