Partially-slotted headstock

after some bad experiences with scarf joints,

tried out this headstock design on my latest cbg and it works a treat.

Firstly routed out a slot for the tuners, then chiseled out a check on
the back for the pegs

Yeah I`m hooked on doing these pocket tuner pegheads, makes using sealed tuners on a 3/4" piece real nice. Plus you get a nice break at the nut.

Routing out pockets for tuners, I found doing it with my dremel and the routerbase with a square sided router bit works the best for me. 1/8" deep passes takes me a few min. to get a clean pocket.

neat set up you have with the dremel, randy. i use my plunge router ive had for 15 years (and still going strong)
