I was watching some demo of old, quirky reverb and echo units. I was wondering, has anyone made any?

Make sure to post pictures if you have!

Cool vid, it sounds from that like Fender was running a hard disk drive in analog as an echo/reverb unit back in 1967. But where did they find a hard disk drive platter back in 1967 to build it?

You could try and contact some ex-employees. I'd be interested to know too. Fender is a big company so I'm sure you'll be able to find one or two guys who know about it.

It really wouldn't matter anyway, I did a little looking after watching the video and found out the patent on the first computer hard drive is as old as I am, so they were around. I would have guessed they had been developed closer to the 70s. Quite a mix of fields brought together to make that unit, that disk housing had to have come out of the same kind of tin can closing machine as those used to can food.

Amen to that, interesting about the patent, thanks for that info. :)
