I hope this is the right place, but I built this 4 string solid body mandolin recently from bits of timber scavanged from the firewood pile, and leftover guitar hardware. Neck is mahogany with a maple fingerboard, body is probably pitch pine (it was a kitchen table). I have a load of build pics, but I'm not sure where to put them

Sounds like this

Yesterday, I picked up a thick slab of African mahogany that will be cut down for my sides and neck, and I got purple heart for the fretboard. The top and back will be Spanish cedar. Things are starting to come together and look quite real. This is very exciting! I post pics when I have something.
