[Beginner Questions - ABCs]

By using one or the other as in bone,wood, bolt, for a nut is there any difference in sound that comes by using different material?

Yup, very much so. I have 3 main materials I use for nuts (assuming it's not a zero fret set up) Alumin(i)um angle stock (twangy, snappy sound, easily worked) Bone (good all rounder if a bit stinky to grind) and seasoned Rosemary (very hard and a nice warm tone. looks good too.)
