The Catbro looks great, where did you source the neck?
Tom I have had good luck mounting single coil pickups under the resonator, in my case a coffee can, it might be something to try in future builds.
This is my 3rd one( for sale page top of the page,)http://home.comcast.net/~204mike/diddleybow.html
Brian, just watched the videos, i like your method for drawing the circle.
Tom, i hope you will post a video when the project is done
Jeff,
The tool is one used to cut heavy construction paper. You can get one in a craft store. It made a nice circle and cut the cedar ok but the depth wasn't enough to go all the way through so I drilled a hole and finished up with a coping saw.

howdy jeff, just stopped by to tell ya i cut the hole for a cone with a coping saw,as far as marking it goes i use an old school system that is difficult to explain but you can see the explination if you go to a video i am making that shows the steps of one way i use to build resonator guitars.i just added a blog on the main page called--vintage ammo box resonator build---several helpful ideas in there and the part about marking the soundhole is in the second video.hope this helps you.
Please tell me about the tool you are using to mark? cut? the hole.
thanks jeff
Just working on a reso guitar made with a cedar box that was sold with Salmon. I am using a cat food dish so my official name for it is the "CATBRO"
Here are the parts:
Cutting the hold for the catfood dish:
Braced the box and attached the neck and glued in the cat bowl (2 pics):
Will post more as I get closer to completion.
Merry Christmas all.
Tom
