one way to make your own spool clamps.spool%20clamps.JPG
I saw a vid about a jig to hold the neck while gluing a scarf joint, now I cant find any more, can someone show me where it is?
The picture is one of my best little ideas for nut cutting.
This is a jumbo fret with the spine cut off.
When you have a nut glued in place with the initial slot cuts for strings, lay this on top of the fretboard against the nut and you have a depth gauge for finishing the string slots. For anything from fretless to medium frets, this serves as a depth gauge. You can get the right depth on the first cut. Saves a ton of time.
To Sgnt Roy,
You can find inexpensive (cheap) tuners, that work pretty well, on eBay for about $1 each including shipping, when you buy 6. I've bought a lot of them and only had one failure, and that was when my nut angle and scarf joint was very steep, thus overworking the tuner.
Hi Roy,
I just copied this post to here from Ted's Mad Scientist Lab
