opps, my description didnt show. I sanded the head with 80 grit sand paper and dipped it in stain. When dry, i dipped it in lacquer.

BEST TIP EVER.........have you had a problem getting that glue bottle or tung oil bottle open (cause it is glued shut)  Got this tip from Rodney ...  "Wrap some of that white teflon pipe thread tape around the lid of that bottle so some folds over to the inside, you will be able to open it next week or next month."
