For nut and saddle slotting I first start the slot with an Exacto Saw

To finish the slot so it has a rounded bottom I use a Torch Tip Cleaner (Sears $3.99)

You can also use a piece of a wound guitar string to finish & round the slot.

Great Idea Ted. I made my first Corian nut yesterday. I used a tringle shaped file to make my grooves. I also used a japanese small pullsaw to help get started. Worked out pretty good.
yep i've been using the same as Ted works a treat and much cheaper than a set of stewmac nut files

Can I shorten the length of the "flat bed pickups" from Ted and not damage them and what suggestions do you have for securing the bridge to the body of the gitbox and the brass to the bridge?
