Builders Challenge - Winter 2013

The theme of this challenge is to incorporate something you'd find in your garage into your build - any type of instrument. Some ideas are:
Basically anything you'd find in your garage!
Even one small piece qualifies...
No Garage? Check your car trunk or shed or hall closet. There's a millionteen items you can use...
Start a new discussion here and post progress of your build - or wait until the end and surprise us. After the deadline I'll start a new discussion for voting where I'll post each entry and provide a poll for voting.

Enter as many instruments as you want, but please post a new discussion for each.
Prizes will be determined at a later date . Any ideas or donations?
I'll sweeten the pot with complete Crocker electronics - a DownUnder pickup and a wiring harness with volume/tone, jack and a control plate & knobs.

my entry into the winter challenge is a coleman fuel 3 string fretless resonator guitar.
Here is my entry into the builders challenge. It is simple but very representative of a vintage hand made music instrument.
A "Relic" Canjo....
A 20+ year old Folgers Coffee Can used for holding nuts & bolts, an old rusty nail for a nut, an old weathered broken leaf rake handle for a neck, and you have an instrument that looks truly vintage!
The neck is crudely notched at the pentatonic nodes with a pocket knife.
Yes, the wood tuning peg does look new... the "cover story" is that I wanted to make it playable, and the original was just too brittle to hold the string....
I like that . looks great
That is down right cool :) what a great idea kind of like my cake pan on a much larger scale :)
