I haven't sold on ebay for sometime. They really seem like they went for the big sellers and pushed the little guys out. I switched over to ebid.

What kind of luck are you having on there Norm

Hi all,

Ebay was a good place for me to start I had some good success.

As Norm says they don't seem to like the little guys.

They have been trying to force me into opening an eBay Shop, but I don't want to go to the added expence of a monthly fee they will charge, it is also something I really don't want and prices you get for your items are getting lower and lower.

I had a bit of a glut of Cigar Boxes so I put 3 lots up for sale on Ebay and without any prior notification they removed these ads stating that there is still an embargo in place with Cuba so, as some of the boxes were Cuban, I couldn't sell them on Ebay. Although they allowed me to sell CBG's with Cuban boxes (very strange). They did not refund my listing fees claiming I should have read the terms, I can't find anything about Cuba in their terms.

I consequently don't use Ebay very much now.

How do you find Ebid Norm, is it any good?

ebid is like ebay use to be when they were first starting up. I like them much better as they are not a**holes ;) But again they are an auction site and you tend to get what people offer as your price.

Are your boxes made in (as an example)... Nicaragua or other country only saying on the box "Cuban cigars"?? Or do you have actual Cuban made boxes? If so I would be interested in those.

I can do OK on ebid but find as an auction site I'm limited to what I can make vs a direct market.  I typically get 1/2 of what I can get by selling it directly. But I think it is a good place for lower end type instruments as the price won't vary much. Auction folks tend to view most instruments in a general view... a CB with a stick & strings means the same to most folks as a higher end CB instrument with bells n whistles.
