I just bought an old, late '50s-early '60s Silvertone banjo from a junk store. Missing tailpiece, bridge, nut , 5th tuner and a couple of frets, but the resonator seems to be in good shape. I know it's just a crappy Silvertone, but it'd be my first…Continue

OK, so Christmas Eve 2010, I picked up a f-hole parlor size guitar off Craig's List. It was part of a "bundle" of 6 instruments. Pictures being what they are, I was disappointed with it, but got it as part of the deal. It seems to be 1930ish,…Continue

When I was in college, I found a guitar in a friends basement. It didn't play very well but i couldn't put it down. it was a small body Japanese checkmate del rey, nothing special. after it got too bad to play fingerstyle, I put a riser nut on it…Continue

great challenge, great job David. This was a cool interactive event, got me a new guitar! The metal thing could be very interesting too.
Good job to all you that made the deadline and to David, what an item that was. Very neat and unique!
I too like the idea of the metal theme. I will keep my eyes and ears open on this one.
I'm up for a metal type theme. It'll be a first for me too.
Hi Randy, sounds a great idea mate, will be a first metal box guitar for me, should be interesting so count me in mate, all the best Chris. :)
I`ll get in another one if anyone has any suggestions..how about a metal box build off.. that includes cookie tins. Lets say 3/4 of the box has to be somekind of metal.
We have a great winner... congrats to Dave! And congrats to everyone. a great bunch of projects. I'd be happy to have any of them in my "stable"....
well done david, a great choice as winner!
and well done jef for the work putting this together - was a lot of fun
Wow... I don't know what to say, except Thank You to everyone. Thanks Jef for the idea. Thanks Jef, Randy, Jim, and everyone that has put ideas into my head. Thanks Ted for the Clubhouse and inspiration. I thought all the entries were winners. I've learned more about instrument making & repair here in a year & a half, then I ever thought possible. Congratulations to the Clubhouse for being an outstanding resource for the musical hobbyist. I didn't win this, you guys won it for me. Thank You Clubhouse.
