Hey Jimbo thanks for the comments on my latest pickup and my winder , as regards the winder i made well the biggest cost was the sewing machine motor and foot speed control - both were bought new but spares are available for them both so they should last a good many years - the rest of the winder was just made from scrap materials i had laying around - i made the bearing blocks , pulley wheels ect from sheet alloy billet - i love to use my milling machine and lathe to make stuff - i've always tinkerd about making what i can - i maybe even get round to Anodizing it all one day i have the Gear to do it just dont seem to be able to stop winding pickups for long enough to strip it down and anodize it lol!
great job on your winder mate as long as it does what it's supposed to dont matter what it's made from - a wound pickup is the same really no mater what machine it's wound on
i'm sure you will be buzzin once the first pickup comes off the winder it's a great feeling to be able to make your own pickups - i love it but i bet you guessed that already lol!
Cheers mate
Enjoy juju.
