A new client build. Here's a photoshopped idea for a general shape. I'm going for a hot rod, chevy tail fin vibe. The wood in this idea shot is 2 pieces of African Black Walnut with a racing stripe down the center made of Bloodwood/Maple/Bloodwood, just laying next to each other - no glue. Nothing is definite yet but the wheels are turning...

<(shape is PhotoShopped, just wait till I make sawdust)

Loving this build! The racing strip is beautiful, as is the cut out. Are You gonna use the plate under the knobs or no.....? If You want My 2 cents..... I like it without the plate. Thanks for sharing such a great build.

Nice -- I agree with Richard about the plate (no plate, I think).

No plate! Still have to finish the knobs.

Robbie, do you stand up to play?
Comment by Robert Sambat on June 2, 2010 at 10:07pm
Only when performing, Ted. Generally, I sit. Concerned about it slipping when playing it on my lap?

I do play Flying V's from time to time, and they take a little effort to play while seated... but it can be done :)
