many thanks for adding me as a friend. I am just starting my CBG 'career' since my son gave me most of the parts to make my first CBG as a Christmas present. I made my first build of a three stringer tuned to D-A-d and enjoyed the build process so much I built a CB Uke straight after. I am now planning my third build. Perhaps you can advise me on the best neck / fretboard timber combination.
Hey good mornin Ted.Thanks for the invatation to yack with some folks and introduce myself. Iv'e had some fun making a thumb piano, washtub bass and a host of didgeridooooos : ) Looking forward to making CBG and dulsimers and play them at some gigs with friends. Cecking out videos on how too's and starting to collect parts and if my Grandson lets me have my one car garage back (He's been living with us for two yrs now and good to have him),I can set up a small work space once again.
Thanks and looking forward to this journey in instrument building and playing.
Thanks for the welcome Ted, Not really shy on asking questions so here is the first. Since you seem to do a bit of design work, how hard would it be to make a 4 string floyd rose type bridge for my up and coming Piccolo bass? Have you ever played with bridge parts? I contacted Floyd Rose and they thought it was a great idea but I was on my own. So I am going to give it a whirl myself. Any suggestions?
