I've now raised the freq centre a bit because the wide slope was taking out too many high mids.  10kHz seems to work really well. That's two 16kHz and one 8.2kHz resistor, and two .001uf caps and a .002uf cap. Very easy to solder up on a bit of plain perfboard.

Ta. Spent two days experimenting with wiring options. Glad the lid is on the back! Will use the other half of the P90 pair in a current gat order, but after that will stick to piezos with a Tillman pre and a switchable Twin T notch filter  to make the piezo better on dirty sounds. They are just too bright otherwise. Hurts my ears!  Notching out a wide swathe of freqs around 7.8kHz  makes it play more like an electric when you need it to.
