I would like to say that I wasn't a combat marine and don't try to make anyone believe that I was. As I moved up in rank I had the oppertunity to serve in many jobs. One was serve in marine laison at the Clark Airbase Hospital Philippines. While serve there my job was to attend to the needs of wounded marines coming through the Philippines or that they needed to stay at the hospital untill they were strong enough for the travel home. It was also my job to send messages to the states so the progress of those staying would be relayed to families. The hardest job was meeting parents that came to pick up their sons who didn't make it. And meeting mothers and wifes who made the trip to visit the ones who were in recovery. Now matter which branch you were in it was all the same when wounded and had parts missing or had big holes in your body where they shouldn't be. I could write a book on what I saw in that hospital and the men I met. The memories are still there and do not fade with time no one knows what these men had to endure unless they were part of their famly.
Enough said.

Sounds like when I served my first time in Nam. When we landed in California we were warned ahead of time that there were protesters in the airport to meet us at the gate. We were told not to touch anyone nomatter what they did. They called us names and spit on us, but we had to suck it up and march right through all this BS. Funny thing was there was probley about 30 maybe 50 protesters tops compared to over 200 marines.
This song would have been good for memorial day or veterens day.
Thank you for posting it
Roger
