I saw the help page and sent what I could. Other than that, I don't use any social media platform, and honestly am not aware of other CBG websites (had my fill with the CBN nonsense). I've just been working away at FlatCats, flutes, electric cellos and CBGs in my workshop, and binging Netflix. ;D
Hope things turn for the better for you soon.
Not sure if you saw my 'HELP' post here or on my facebook page, I'm in trouble, can you share my FB page all over to the million CBG groups please? thanks!
I don't want to lose the Clubhouse
Well now that is just a couple of awesome pieces of real music history there. : )
I crafted both movie Honey Dripper guitars. The prop master explained that if somehow the guitar got damaged or disappeared they could not hold up production for 2 weeks while I made another one. He sent one back to me after filming wrapped! Sadly, I had to sell it...
I also made 2 replicas, one for the guy who rented the building the movie used for the Honeydripper lounge, and another for Keith Urban.
Speaking about Elmar, way back then I was the pickup guru (kinda still am), and Elmar and I went back and forth to hone his design. Here is a very, very early FlatPup prototype. Just weeks into his testing.
It's kinda not known, but I've have a hand in many, many prominent builders, suppliers and players. I prodded Gitty to sell online when all he had was extra fret wire, I gave him my links to brass corners, pots, jacks, caps & wire, and the rest is (multi million dollar) history!
(hope the new hats aren't red)
Pretty cool to get a surprise video of your work in action. I was blown away when Keith Urban linked me to him playing his Crocker Honey Dripper - solo in the crowd, the band took a break!
It's the little things in life that bring smiles...
PEACE, LOVE AND BELL BOTTOMS!!!
Yeah Ted, I had to go buy new hats. The old ones shrank for some reason. ;D
No seriously, I love that others love the sound enough to use these things, and I'll be eternal grateful to Elmar for the initial design. Even though the current FlatCat is a totally different design, if it hadn't been for Elmar I'd have never even conceived of such a device. We all work off the genius of those who have gone before, eh?
One of my customers sent me the link to this video; I wasn't even aware it was there. Pretty awesome to see that FlatCat right up mid camera. Brooks is such a talented performer. (If I remember correctly... didn't you create the Honey Dripper pickup used in a really good movie? Kinda like that feeling to a small extent.) ;D
(I sure hope I have names spelled correctly and references correctly referenced. Brain overload these days...)
A great feeling to see and hear your creations in action!!
