After several CBG's, a CB Ukulele, a couple CB amps, and a Lap Steel I,m thinking it's time to attempt a Bass CBG. Any tips? Doing a 30" scale two string. Neck will be Maple with a oak fret board. Do I need to worry about the neck bowing? Should I somehow reinforce the neck to prevent bowing? Recommended pickup? Appreciate any help offered.

With a two string and a maple & oak neck you should be good. You could use a traditional truss rod but it might not be necessary with 2 strings. One thing I've done is slice the neck in half and put a 3rd strip of wood down the middle, kinda like a poor man's truss rod.
Good luck!!!
Thanks Ted
