Handmade Music Clubhouse

Cigar Box Guitar Headquarters - CBG HQ

hi everyones,,

i'm not create this dicussion to talk about me,, but just  few words to present me,, i'm from France,, i'm "TINQUI8", and i'm in contact with Mr Ted since 3 years now, ( sorry my english is not so good sometimes,,)

to Ted:

my friend you're still "my" mentor,, my reference , i've learn  a lot from you, i've buy my first pickups to you,,   magnetique 3 strings and  piezo,,    i remember my first build cbg,, always looking to your work,, ask you for advice etc,,,,  respect my friend,,  for your answer  and you disponibilty,,,

why i do this discussion,,  simple,, i'm working on my website,,  recently  i've change it, for a better one,, ( i become  one of the "guy" for cbg in France so,, i try to "look" better with it),,  bla bla,,

the real reason is that i've wacth my work since 3 years,, and of course i remember when i 've  begin,, watching my "old vidéos",, and thinking about the way i've done,, and all my first build was with your pichups so ,, i'm thinking about my old friend Ted,,  another reason is that i don't have time to pass by here,,i've always a lot's of work , so  ,,,,  but i don't forget  the good old friends,,,

so ,, i just pass to say HI,,  and  thank's,,

T1Q8,    peace,,      and  maybe catch you later bro'

PS:

i share this vidéo  to show you,, one of my first build,, (lapsteel 4 string, with Ted's pickup),

oup's , i'm not sure that the vidéo  is ok to add),, so this is the link:

Hello Tinq my friend!!!

Yes we have been friends for a long time.  You were one of the first 25 members here at the Clubhouse and we just celebrated 3 years old on November 20th.  You were part of the nation before that and I remember your early builds and our conversations.  It is my pleasure, and my purpose in life to help people to build their own instrument and express themselves with music.

I've actually been online almost every day since 2003 helping folks - first with the original yahoo group Cigar Box Guitars (member 13 when it was 2 weeks old), then the next Yahoo group Cigar Box Guitar Builders, then in 2007 I started the MySpace page Cigar Box Guitar Headquarters (CBGHQ) (plus my video/live broadcast site CBG TV), then founding member #2 at the Nation in December 2008 and now my Handmade Music Clubhouse.  No one else has had a continuous online presence longer than me, and I have made many friends and learned a lot.  The cigar box guitar community has defined my life.

Tinq, we've watched your success and many times I've wished I had your talent.  Much luck to you in the future and in your involvement with the UK CBG movement.  One day I'd love to cross the pond and get to meet you.

My friend, as many instruments as you've made, I must say my favorite by far is your Lap Rider Steel - pure genius (with a wink & a smile).  Thank you for all you've added here and I hope you can find time to visit us more often.  What is your website?

Thank you for the kind words mon ami...
