Phosphor Bronze doesn't work with mag pickups does it?

Ughhh... Just finished modding a Harmony Patrician for my buddy for his birthday. I added a custom wound six pole mag pickup. I headed down to a music store that I don't usually go to and asked him for a set of light gauge D'Addario's for a single coil pickup that I installed on an acoustic. He gave me EJ16s... I didn't think about it until I got home, that he may have given me strings for something with a transducer, which isn't the case. If I put these on the guitar will I get any sound?? Ughhh...... and of course tomorrow all music stores in the area are closed and it's the day I need to give it to him. I suppose I could steal the set I just put on my  Gibson ES-125. Arrghh...

Yep they will still work as they have a steel core but wont have as much moving mass as a regular Electric guitar string (steel core and steel wound )

i did the same thing myself once and tried them anyway they do work just not as well on the wound strings

hope that helps - if your not in too much of a rush just takee them back and exchange them

Thanks Juju. I decided to rob my Gibson of it's new strings and put them on this build. i want to give it as a birthday gift tomorrow and i want it rocking right. I'll head back out and get myself some good strings. I can save the bronze for one of my piezo projects. I'll post picts soon. Thanks again!

They will work but they won't work. You might be able to crank the amp and hear a thin tone, but you can't use them on a client guitar.
