Comment by Tres Seaver on January 11, 2010 at 1:16am: Roger, the Backyard Music instruments seem like PERFECT fits for the "everybody can make music" ethos here: if you don't have a local instrument shop / luthier offering instruments at comparable prices, then GO FOR IT! (I have a SERIOUS soft spot for the main-street businesses who know that their livelihood depends on supplying which makes people happy to make music).

If I had a source for 10" mailng tubes, I would try replicating their design myself.

Comment by Roger Morin on January 10, 2010 at 11:18pm: Don't know if anyone would be interested but if you go to backyardmusic.com they have some banjo kits fairly cheap. They use a cardboard tube for the pot. But for those that want a fat build cigar box banjo just replace their pot with your cigar box. Just passing along some info.
