Jug Band
Just a board and a box,
some stings and things,
Ba dum, babababa, ba dum
just put it together,
now let it sing.
Ba dum, babababa, ba dum
Just bucket and a stick
and the old clothes line.
Ba dum, babababa, ba dum
But this washtub bass
sure sounds just fine.
Ba dum, babababa, ba dum
It may be nothing
but an earthen jug
Ba dum, babababa, ba dum
but when we break loose
you're gonna cut some rug.
Ba dum, babababa, ba dum
Just a board and a tin
and some pieces of wire,
Ba dum, babababa, ba dum
but this slide guitar
sure gonna light your fire.
Ba dum, babababa, ba dum
Just boxes and sticks
and old tin cans,
Ba dum, babababa, ba dum
we put them together
and made our band.
Ba dum, babababa, ba dum
Ba dum, babababa, ba dum

Awesome, really sums up the folks here. Great voice!
Thanks Ted, there is a verse here for a drum too if I can ever figure out what I wrote in the last line of it. Pretty bad when you can't make out your own handwriting less than a day after you wrote something. I'm hearing a short solo by each instrument as they are introduced.
In my head that nonsense line repeated over and over was done on a bass not vocal, but I don't play. Yet.
If you say so about my singing ability, I think I sound like crap, I always just hear the clogged up sinuses and the crud from them rattling in the back of my throat in mine. But then, Leo Kottke sounds great to me, and I've heard him in an interview saying he hated his own voice because to him it sounded a lot like a flatulent goose.
I finally made out another verse, this one is the ending in my notes,
We make our songs
with a handmade touch.
Who said to play music
you need to spend so much.
the drummer's verse I can only make out
Took some hollow logs
and some hunks of hide.
Now I bang my drums
I can't make out the next part, but it ends with "ride".
I am totally out of it when these things come to me, either insomnia or migraine headache or both in this case, trying to write them down is like trying to transcribe the lyrics of a song you hear on the radio the first and only time you ever hear it. And then I have to try to figure out WTF I wrote the next day. I really wish they'd have drilled me a lot harder on penmanship as a kid some times, this is one of them.
We wired our amps
out of old radios.
to give some life
to our found piezos.
Some magnets and wood
and some very fine wire.
Ted's Stonehenge Pickups
are gonna take us much higher.
