I put the little pixie guy as a back plate, but had to remove it to get the rotating armilliary sphere inside.

Thanks Ted. I was lucky to find the old brass empty clock case, and have the bits lying around my shed (for shed read blessed haven). It was really just a matter of assembling the bits I had, and getting a tiny motor inside with the rotating armilliary sphere mounted on top. That was the hardest bit.
