An "octavely-dandy-mandy" Harrison...you were in luck to get the opportunity to re-focus the evolution of the body to a beautiful instrument.
I wish I could take credit for the shape it was given to me as a failed guitar project be cause the guy who designed the shape did not have a solid understanding of scale length. While this body would never work for a guitar, i figured out that it could proportionally work as an octave mandolin. I beleive the shape is actually a take off on a kids size import 24" scale bass so i don't really think it's an "original" design per se. Functionally, it doesn't balance well on your right knee as the waist is shifted too far back of the mass center of the guitar. I thinkit's hard to come up with new shapes because there are elements of the shape that affect the function.
Dido on the shape.
I've tried to design a few origina guitar shapes in the past which taught me how hard it is to be original, funtional and good looking.
Great job!!!
Harri, Reallly Nice.!!! I like the shape.
PERRRRR D!
