Cigar Box Guitar Headquarters - CBG HQ

I don't think I am finished with this just yet. I still want to age the metal and maybe add some corners

Thanks Ted, funny that is just about what Keni said - just play it and it will age in no time.... YOU Guys are the experts... It is a fun instrument to play I am planning on using it to follow Keni Lee's 4 string instructional videos on youtube...Take care

Sweet build Jim. Maybe it just needs to be played, played, played...

Hey RF the material was given to me from someone that just had a piece of it. I believe it's the stuff they put around drums pretty thin and somewhat flexible....If I can get more material I will work with it again, I think it will hold up....I still want to do something with this CBG, it just looks like it is missing some stuff maybe distress the cover plate add some corners. I am talking with Brian about how he makes his cover plates I may give making a cover plate a go. Anyway if you try some drum skin material the real trick is getting it glued down. I used binding cement next time I would try something like contact cement....If you get your hands on some of the stuff let me know how it goes and where you found it. Take care.

I like it Jim! That fretboard sure looks good, how thick and would you do it again?
