The a,b,c was an attempt to avoid confusion. But in some instances it appears to have created some.

I wanted to keep my notations "single digit", so I substituted A for "10" to prevent people from playing

the 2 note "1" and "open 0" combo instead the single note "10".

lol now were doing algerbra ? ok thanks but now....what is the a,b,c for why not 10,11,12 ? sorry for all the questions . i dont know much about dulcimers etc. and the net isnt worth much on info with them .

Simple conversion from Diatonic to Chromatic.

1=2

2=4

3=5

4=7

5=9

6=10

7=11

8=12

9=14

A=16

B=17

C=19

hey if im using a guitar scale and taking away frets what frets do i keep ? like what is the 6 1/2 fret ? this confused me right off the bat .
