It has 12 frets, but the 12th I still have to put in. The lower part of the fretboard is made from ebony. That meant that I had to make half a circle in the soundboard on the top to put the ebony part in.

The next part is making the bridge. I also still have to cut the edge of the soundboard, to put a dark decoration in. It's still quite a lot of work.

Super looking lady, DeeDee...been admiring this one since you started building it, and look forward to hearing her sing.

I'm not familiar with that instrument, but wonder why it only has 11 frets? I suppose reaching a full octave up (at a 12 fret) isn't necessary ?

Mine has also a small stand in one corner. I used a cello stand for this purpose.

At the moment I'm making the bridge out of maple and ebony. I have tried the sound already with a piece of wood functioning as  a temporary bridge and the lowest string. Sounds really great.

Wow !!! I seen one of  those bass versions before. It sat on a small stand on one corner and the guy held it that way to play it. Sounded so cool !
