What instruments are you building or playing?
I've only built a couple of guitars so far. My first was a 30" 3-stringer and it was just so long I built another that was only 25.5. Both simple frettless jobbers.

Resonator/ Tongue Drum

So I'd really like to be able to lay down a percussive beat while playing so I decided to try a tongue drum built into a git. I've never made a tongue drum before but thought what the Heck. To make the tongue drum work I chose 3/4" mahogany, but that left a problem because the sound board is so thick I wouldn't make an acoustic git worth a crap. I decided to finally employ this aluminum cone I got from Old Lowe a while back. It's a six incher. I went a head full steam and cut the tongues out…


Sanddraggins license plate reso

So here's my first license plate resonator. It's an old plate I got from my Father in law when he passed. He had it in his bedroom hanging on the wall. I'm using two one inch dowels. I believe they are maple. And the box is the perfect size for the plate. The idea is to route out a quarter inch for the walnut fret board, then route out the rest for the box and plate.
