"Thank you for that info. My gas tank is about 3'x2' so I don't think I will spend the time on that kind of work. I might just do like I did on this one. with the neck (or some kind of stabilizer) all the way through."

"Hi Colin, hope this helps.  On my swamp growler I pretty much filled the entire box as if it was a solid body. I routed the neck pocket the same way I would on a solid body. I can't locate any pics now, but many other builders here…"

Welcome to the Clubhouse! How did you hear about us?
I was a member when this first came about when Ted separated from Cigar Box Nation. I left for some years and would like to rejoin.
What instruments are you building or playing?
Cigar box guitars, and an upright fuel tank bass.

I can't locate any pics now, but many other builders here have done something similar, but not filling the box.  A length of wood from neck to tail with a routed pocket.
