Cigar Box Ukulele

Trying to build my first cigar box ukulele.  So far I've already been having a problem doing a scarf joint so I could have an angled head.  Don't have any power tools, so I need to come up with a better way to cut straight lines.  Here's what it looks like glued up:

Gonna need a lot of filling and/or sanding to get it level. :(

Here is…

Arnold's 1-String Wonder

Built my first Diddley Bo on Friday.  It has become my NEW favorite musical instrument!  Gonna start building more of them, I think.  Great way t oget rid of any odd guitar strings you have laying around. :)

Drillbit slipped, so the tuner is slightly to one side.  But it still works just fine.

Latest cache of boxes

Went to my local discount cigarette outlet to look at buying "a couple" cigar boxes to build with.  When I discovered they were only $1 a piece and it was "buy 3 get 2 free"...Let's just say that plan went out the window. LOL!  Here's what I got:

CBG #2...Three Stringer Death Punch

Here's my newest cbg, which I've named "Three Stringer Death Punch". Those of you familiar with current bands will get the joke. ;)

Still needs the rest of the hardware attached and strung up.  I'm hoping it plays well, even though it's a paperboard box.  Don't know if I wanna put electronics in it or not.  May play with it for awhile…

My first CBG...REBOOTED!

I was happy with how my very first CBG turned out...but I wasn't SATISFIED with it.  Well NOW I am!  Only did a few "tweaks" to it, but it turned out AMAZING, IMHO.  I removed the electric guitar strings and part extra light acoustic strings, which sound MUCH better.  Before installing the strings, I glued up the two outer string holes and re-drilled them, making them more "spread out".

It's DONE!!!!

It's done!  I finally got off my lazy butt and finished my first cigar box guitar.  Check it out:

Now it's time to start thinking about the next one.  Got a red Punch box that I think I want to use for my first "electrified" cbg. …
