I'm looking for some free ware to download to my computer for recording and editing/mixing some songs, and then converting the files to mp3 for burning to Cds.

Any suggestions?

I use Audacity. You can do 4 tracks. Then mix them into one. Then add three to the one, and mix those into one........ and so on. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

My windows Vista crashed the other day, so I changed to Ubuntu and it supplied a different converter. But this is the one I used before the crash and I had good luck with it:

Also, if you record tracks on a handheld recorder, and want to add them to Audacity so you can add more tracks, you'll need to convert them to MP3 before importing them to Audacity.

Thanks for the info.  I'm going to download Audacity and give it a try.
