Have you ever heard of an instrument called a "Igil"? It produces a haunting, melodic sound, but looks like it could be something that would be adaptable to a handmade instrument builder's skill set... what do you think? the best, Wichita Sam

Sam that reminds me of my whiskey box bowed dulci I made just that has a longer neck and another srting.
